India's Vedanta lobbied to weaken environmental regulations during pandemic: Report

Vedanta, an Indian company, allegedly conducted a covert lobbying campaign to weaken environmental regulations during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). The company's chairman, Anil Agarwal, reportedly suggested allowing mining companies to increase production by up to 50% without obtaining new environmental clearances.
